It's SO CUTE that my last blog entry starts out with me being all excited about paying off my car. Because the next day- the very next day- we were driving home from the bar when my car decided to take a shit. By which I mean, it decided it no longer likes to accellerate, switch gears, or stay running at stop lights. It also developed a fun burning smell! It's currently sitting at the mechanic's and I was luckily able to drive my grandpa's car to work today.
By the way, my grandpa's car is awesome and is also a huge boat of a car. It has a tape player and the radio works (the one in my car only currently gets 2 stations, and shitty ones, at that). George Michael sang me to work today.
Our air conditioner also broke over the weekend, and the apartment maintenance people didn't think it was an emergency (I know, what's wrong with them, right?) so it isn't being fixed until today. Oh, and for a few hours yesterday, I couldn't find my keys and spent some fun time calling every single place I'd been before realizing they were missing, asking if anyone had found them. Turns out, they were in my kitchen.
Other than all of that, though, I had a really fun weekend. Darren was in town, and we went to the Comedy Club and out to the bar on Friday, and then we went out for ice cream on Saturday. Always a good time when Darren's around. Lauren had an art show on Saturday, which my mom drove me, Cory, and Bobby to, then she was kind enough to take us to the after party at Mickey Finn's and drive our drunk butts home later on. We also had a Father's Day BBQ at my parent's house on Sunday. My dad has always been a big ice cream eater, and it turns out, my grandpa puts my dad's love for ice cream to shame. So I got them both Father's Day ice cream. And I thought- You know, if I live to be 89, I will also spend my days eating as much ice cream as possible. Cause damnit, once you've lived that long, you've earned it.
I have a couple of pictures from this weekend, but left my camera at home. So perhaps they will be posted later. In the meantime, have a great week, everbody.
And cross your fingers for me that any news I get from the mechanic today is good, inexpensive news.
