Today I found out that there is a reality show called "The Two Coreys" that stars- oh, yes- Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. I don't have cable, and haven't for quite a few years, and as a result, this show totally skipped my awareness. Which seems wrong, somehow, considering my Corey History.
By which, I mean the time I saw Corey Feldman. In concert. At Mickey Finn's. Actually, attending that show came about moreso because Thuy wanted to see the opening band, Koufax, but for me, Corey Feldman was a bonus.
When he got on stage, he was wearing a leather trench coat and a fedora and there may or may not have been a feather in his fedora...I'm picturing a feather, but you know how sometimes your brain embellishes a memory to make it better? It may be one of those things. Cause a feather- HA! That would make it much cooler.
Later it must have gotten too hot for the trench coat, cause he took it off and did the rest of the show shirtless. And speaking of shirts, his fiance (now his wife) was running the merchandise table and parts of her bounced when she danced, and other parts did not. Think about it.
Anyway. The show wasn't the best part. That came AFTER the show. About halfway through Corey's set, we lost interest and went outside. We were standing on the sidewalk in front of the bar when the show ended, and Corey came running out of the door right behind the stage, and ran past us. And he was running as if he expected to be mobbed by fans. Except our little group were the only people out there. And no one followed him out the door. We just stood there and quietly watched him jump into his car and speed away. Then we resumed our conversation. We didn't give it much thought until a few minutes later, when Corey's car pulled around the corner and passed the bar. Then, a minute or so after that, it came back around the corner and passed the bar again. This went on for a good half an hour or so- he just kept driving around in circles, past the bar, sometimes honking, as if he couldn't accept that no one had chased him and hoped that everyone was maybe just slow getting outside. I think one girl eventually ran towards his car and gave a half-hearted scream, but I wasn't really convinced.
During this time, a crazy-looking guy from Corey's band came out of nowhere and joined our circle. He stood there for a minute. Then he walked away.
None of this is to say that I don't enjoi Corey Feldman's movies or his status as an 80's superstar. You'd be hard-pressed to find better movies than Stand By Me, Lost Boys, License to Drive, The Burbs... As a matter of fact, on the first day of a college class way back when, we were asked to fill out questionnaires about ourselves and read the answers to the class in one of those annoying "get to know everyone even though you'll never remember any of this tomorrow" exercises. And when asked my favorite actor(s), I wrote, "The Coreys". When I read my answer to the class, no one knew what I was talking about and I had to explain to everyone that I mean Corey Feldman and Corey Haim, and how they were really popular in the 80's and everyone referred to them as The Coreys...that baby was lost on those suckers.
So, in conclusion, I might have to someday rent a season of The Two Coreys or something, because my curiosity is most certainly peaked.

The show is absolutely horrible, but it's one of those shows you can't stop watching. I think the show is over already, but here's the recap of it: Corey F. and Corey H. got together at the beginning and had so much fun goofing around, talking about the old days, etc. Then, each episode, they started arguing because Corey F's wife was getting between their friendship (maybe she's the only good part of the show?! haha). Then they announced Lost Boys 2, in which, Corey H. was not cast to be in the movie. Things went downhill from there. The last episode I saw, Corey H. started screaming and yelling at Corey F's wife and Corey F. grabbed him and they almost fought, but didn't. It ended with him jumping into a cab and Corey F. and his wife saying "thank god he left"... and left me saying.. "thank god that shows over.. i wasted a portion of my life watching this show!!" Corey H. was a big baby though, I'll be surprised if he gets another acting job after this... he'd be better off leaving this show off his resume. Ok, that's all. Can't believe I admitted to watching that. :p
haha...Awesome. But, I think I heard they're doing a second season. So it's not over. Sorry.
UGH! Another season.. tho I bet I'll be watching it when I run across it channel flipping..I hate to admit. :p It's kind of like the Anna Nicole show, as horrible as that show was, I found myself glued to it..multiple seasons. haha
