I PAID OFF MY CAR!!! Hooray!!! Seriously, this makes me want to cheer and possibly jump and down and be excited for the rest of the day. But I'm at work. So I'll cheer and jump and whatnot on the inside. And eat a cookie in celebration. HOORAY!!!
I know I mentioned before that my grandpa has moved in with my parents, but I'm not sure if I mentioned that Kyle is now living at my grandpa's house, mainly just to take care of things there and keep the house occupied. Yesterday I went over there to do some laundry and also ended up taking a trip back in time....to the 80's....or, more specifically, to my childhood.
My sisters and I spent a lot of time at my grandparent's house when we were little- seriously, if you've ever met my grandparents, you understand why we completely ADORE them, and if you haven't, well, that's sad cause you're missing out. Anyhoo. My grandma always bought things in 4's so that we all had our own stuff and didn't fight over it (smart lady). This led to me and Kyle's discovery of these little fellas, which we'd both completely forgotten about:

My grandma always labeled EVERYTHING, and the boxes for these cups were no exception:
This is the room where Kyle is currently staying- once upon a time, it was my Aunt Sally's bedroom, but when we were little, it was where we'd sleep whenever we spent the night. The lamp on the wall totally reminds me of a hotel, and that clock used to tick really, really loud and keep me awake at night. I've always been a very light sleeper...
At one point, I went to use the restroom, only to come out and find Kyle wearing some of our old dress up clothes (yes, my grandma used to save old clothes, hats, purses, and shoes for us to dress up in).
This hat is Kyle's favorite...
And since I've now posted embarrassing pictures of Kyle, it's only fair that I post an embarrassing picture...
And yes, we do have a daddy, but no, he did not like getting family portraits taken at church. Apparently my bad hair DID enjoi getting its picture taken, though. (This is actually nothing compared to a few of the other pictures we came across, but I'll have to save those for another day.)

...of all of us:

Then we found our old bath toys... I hated baths at home when I was little, but give me some boats and a shower cap at my grandma's and I was totally there...
We also spent TONS of time playing this game, and I think it actually did sharpen my memory a bit in a way that's now helpful for certain things at work...and for remembering embarrassing things other people do so that I can relate the stories at later dates.
Here's one of my favorite things. It's a doll head that we used to do the hair on. I'm not sure where my grandma ever found this thing, but I spent many an afternoon braiding her hair. Now, however, Kyle and I have decided she's super creepy and after I took this picture, Kyle made me hide her where she couldn't see her anymore.

this is the most amazing post ever. your grandparents house was such a mystery to me, but i loved them so much. i remember all of your grandmas little notes everywhere, and your grandpa telling honest to god grandpa jokes.
and the photo, those two kids were stunners!
Aw, thanks! My grandparents always loved you and my grandma always brought up that newsperson that you reminded her of, but that she could never remember the name of, haha... And my grandpa still tells those jokes, they never get old.
